What is BlueString?
BlueString is a free online service that allows you to preserve and share your memories in a whole new way. You can store, create and share your photos, videos and music - all from one place. At BlueString, you can combine these different media to create multimedia shows to share with friends and family.

What does 'BlueString' mean anyway?
We really just like the sound of the name plus there is some method to our madness. BlueString gets at the idea of connecting, stringing together your media to share in a fun, unique way.

Who can use BlueString??
Anyone. Simply register for the service using your AOL or AIM screen name, or any other e-mail address.

Is there a storage limit per account?
Five gigabytes (GB) is the storage limit for a free account. In the future, you will be able to upgrade your account to higher storage levels.

You can upload the most common video, image, and audio file formats to BlueString. The list below should help you.

Who can view my media files that I have uploaded to BlueString?
All your media files are private and viewable only by you - the account owner. If you choose to share your files, people who receive your shared files will be able to view those media files you select. But these files never leave your account, so you can revoke sharing permissions to maintain ultimate control.

What else can I do besides basic upload and share?
Good question! In addition to sharing your uploaded files, you can also create and share a custom multimedia show so you can share your files in style.

What is BlueString Auto Upload?
Have you ever wondered how cool it would be if files on your PC could automatically upload themselves to the Web so you could share and manage them more easily?
With BlueString Auto Upload, you can do just that! Once installed, the tool automatically uploads files stored in your My Music, My Pictures and My Videos folders in your PC onto BlueString on the Web. How cool is that!

How do I Install?
Installing BlueString Auto Upload is simple and quick. Here’s how:
- Go to www.bluestring.com/download.
- Click the Download button under BlueString Auto Upload.
- Watch out for the download progress bar as the BlueString Auto Upload begins to download.
- Once the download is finished, click Next to begin installation.
- Select the I accept the terms of license agreement option, and then click Next.
- Click the Install to begin installation.
- Once the installation is finished, click Finish.

How can I uninstall BlueString Auto Upload?
If you wish to uninstall your BlueString Auto Upload copy, follow the instructions below for your Operating System (OS).
Windows® XP or 2003 Windows VistaTM
Windows XP or 2003:
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Select the BlueString Auto Upload program, and then click Change/Remove.
- Click the Change/Remove button to confirm.
- Click Next to begin.
- When prompted, click Finish to close out of the window.
Windows Vista:
- Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
- Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
- Select the BlueString Auto Upload program, and then click the Uninstall/Change button at the top.
- If prompted by the User Account Control box, click Continue.
- Click Uninstall to begin.
- When prompted, click Finish to close out of the window.

What is the Webshots button all about?
If you have a Webshosts account, you can see the photos in that account from within BlueString. Even better, tell your friends with Webshots accounts that they can add their media to a StringIt show without having to move their media from Webshots! We're adding more partners like Webshots all the time.

Does BlueString store my Webshots username and password?
BlueString only stores your credentials on your computer. They are stored in an encrypted cookie on your computer and never stored on our servers.
